SEVENTY-TWO HOURS UNDER THE HEAT DOME:

The city of Portland, Oregon experienced a major heat wave with record-breaking temperature. Due to this, many people were greatly impacted by it. The extreme heat brought death, collapsees, and many hospital visits. In this exhibition, you will get to see some of the major events that happened during the days of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday; and experience the effects that the heat waves caused on the people through the use of text. The weather balloon will change colors depending on the intensity of the heat.

INTERACTIVE HEAT-MAP:

A heat-map representation of what Portland, Oregon went through on those three days of extreme/intensive heat. The map is broken down by the hours and goes from a nice cool yellow to an intense dark red. The user can flip up the hours that are visible (active/white), and experience what happened at that specific hour of the day. Some of the hours will also have a QR code with external images or information on the subject.
